Norma Redpath

Untitled maquette: fragmented discs, c. 1980 - 2010

Enquire

Brown wax

10.00 x 10.00 x 3.70

not signed

Provenance:

The Estate of the Artist

Note:

Discs regularly featured in Redpath’s formal language, dating back to such works as Sun Disc, 1966, and the Higuchi Sculpture (Façade Relief), 1970-72, for the Victorian College of Pharmacy. In the present work the disc is broken and the two portions offset, creating a contrapposto tension more usually associated with classical figurative sculpture.
