Charles Nodrum, Peter Kaiser: 1918 - 1995, exhibition catalogue, Geelong Gallery, 2007:
"[Kaiser's] first French works were cubist in approach but by the mid-1950s had advanced into a form of tachisme - thickly applied paint, layered, scored and scratched.  He showed at significant galleries - The Redfern Gallery in London (through his Merioola connection with Harry Tatlock Miller) and Il Milione in Milan.  From about 1956 his work took on a more restrained approach with greater focus on surface texture and collage, often incorporating hessian and abraded paper.  These paintings, influenced to a greater or lesser extent by Spanish art of the era (specifically Antoni Tàpies, whose work he had admired on a trip to Spain) were fairly widely exhibited in Australia in the late 1950s and early 1960s."

Note:

Guadix is the name of a city on Southern Spain.
